Assalam alaykom dear! My mother and I don’t speak Arabic. But when my mother reverted to Islam, she started an operation of translitteration of Surat al Fatiha + the little surats at the end of the Qur’an. You can pray in English, because God the Almighty understands every language, but take note of the fact that Arabic is the language of the Holy Book, and the beautiful part is that the effort you do to learn and recite in Arabic is counted double, so the reward that those who speak Arabic fluently get, is doubled alhamdoliLlah. Therefore, to understand first the meaning of the words, you can pray in English, but once you memorize in Arabic, you need to pray in Arabic ❤️

Assalammu alaikum wrhmatullahi wabaraktuh dear sister,

First of all welcome to islam . May Allah SWT grant you jannatul firdaus and bless you for becoming muslim .

While it might be hard for you to learn Arabic , praying in English is not the answer please refer to this video as to why : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zdp3kdMZuq8

    Instead you could :

    • Pray in a mosque behind and imam and recite after him .
    • Pray using a YouTube video in which you can follow the steps .

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=W9kTd7q1zjE

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X5KpomHbDik

    • Pray holding a musshaf a book in which the quran is written (if you don’t know Arabic then books with transliteration ) please refer to following link :

    https://islamqa.info/amp/en/answers/65924

    • Listen to the ayahs and duas to be recited in salah often to memorise them.

Lastly May Allah SWT bless you for your efforts and ease your hardship .

This answer is to the best of my knowledge ,

    And Allah knows best .

I’m also a new revert struggling with the same thing. I want to learn how to perform Salat in Arabic but I don’t want to miss it due to the language barrier.

Yes you can because Allah know you intentions. But you also should be attempting to learn. A while your trying to learn you get one hasanat for each letter read, where one hasanat is the reward for a good deed. A ten just like it inshallah in due time you will have it.
